New Director at the Centre for for International Dialogue and Cooperation of Rosa Luxemburg Foundation

 

Wilfried Telkämper is the new director of the Centre for International Dialogue and Co-operation (ZID) from the 1st of July, 2010.

 

Wilfried Telkämper was working for Capacity Building International (InWEnt) during the last ten years. Telkämper was further a Member of the European Parliament For the Greens (Germany) from 1987 to 1999, and in this position active in the European Committee on Development, co-president of the parliamentary group, vice-president of the European Parliament as well as vice-president of the ACP-EU joint parliamentary assembly delegation.

 

Earlier, he was active in the West German solidarity and internationalist movement. Telkämper became a member of the party The Left (Germany) during the founding party congress. Earlier, he ran for the state parliament elections (Landtag) in 2006 for the WASG in the German federal state Baden-Württemberg; in Freiburg he reached the best results of this time. In 2009, Bodo Ramelow asked him to join his competence team for the state parliament elections in Thuringia, for which Telkämper sketched a masterplan for Thuringian energy politics.
